New Release - JIWA 6.04.14 : 15 December 2004
JIWA has released its much awaited JIWA 6.04.14 version. This is the first release
since JIWA 6.04.11 back in May 2004.
JIWA 6.04.14 contains a range of new functionality that with not only benefit
new users of JIWA, but also JIWA’s large base of current users.
Current JIWA users may log into the JIWA website to get the full details of all
the new features. A summary of some of the more notable new features are:
1) Active Orders
The sales order system in Jiwa has been enhanced to include a new order type - Active Orders.
Active orders differentiate themselves from other Jiwa order types by :
- Creating BackOrder records on save, not on processing.
- Allow automatic fullfillment of BackOrders when unprocessed.
2) Debtors Maintenance
The debtor maintenance form has been re-written for the release of 06.04.14. This undertaking brings many exciting features, such as :
- Comprehensive scripting capabilities.
- Custom fields per debtor.
- A new "Trading Status" field.
- Debtor Systems is incorporated into the new form.
- Documents may now be attached to debtors.
- Debtor statement may now be printed from the debtor maintenance form.
- Information provided on the orders, sales, etc tabs is now customisable by stored procedures and XML.
3) Job Costing
Budgets have been implemented in the Job Costing module. Budgets may be compared to the actual accrued quantities and costs in the same fashion as the existing estimates could be compared.
4) Quotes
Quotes have been significantly enhanced by including the addition of Opportunity Status, Opportunity Status Reason and Sales Stage fields enabling the essential management of your sales prospects. Opportunities may be viewed on the new debtor maintenance form, using a powerful filtering system for visualising the information you need to analyse your sales pipeline.
5) Purchase Invoices
Purchase Invoices now permit the line total to be keyed - not just the unit price.
6) Sales Orders
The significant change seen in sales orders is the ability to email an order or invoice direct from the sales order entry form. This fantastic new feature enables Jiwa customers to deliver even better service to their customers!
7) Jiwa Management Console
The Jiwa Management Console (JMC) has been re-written. The new JMC performs the common management functions for your SQL Server (including MSDE 2000) such as backup and restore.
8) Installation
The installation has been re-built using the highly regarded InstallShield 10.5 package. The new installation can now seamlessly install and configure MSDE 2000, and even attach and setup the demonstration data!
9) Reporting
It is now possible to save sets of report ranges. So now you can have your favourite ranges at your fingertips!
