JIWA Ends Support of Microsoft 95/98/ME : 24 March 2004

JIWA Financials has announced that it will discontinue its support of future JIWA versions running on workstations operating Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows ME.

The next version of JIWA, JIWA 6.04.11, is expected to be released in May 2004. JIWA Financials is strongly recommending that all workstations running JIWA be upgraded to Windows 2000 or Windows XP before upgrading to JIWA 6.04.11.

Although Microsoft had dropped supported of its Windows 95 and Windows 98 operating systems long ago, among a range of other reasons, JIWA is primarily taking this action due to inefficient way these older operating systems handle its memory allocation to applications, resulting in “memory leaks”.
