New Release - JIWA 6.04.09 : 1 January 2004
JIWA Financials has released a new version, JIWA 6.04.11. The previous release was JIWA 6.04.05 in July 2003.
With this new release, JIWA has significantly strengthened its inventory control:
1) Warehouse Transfers
The Warehouse Transfers functionality within JIWA has been completely rewritten in order to accurate reflect the processes that companies perform when transferring stock and to provide better control of those processes.
JIWA Warehouse Transfers recognises that stock is not in one warehouse as soon as it leaves another. Stock may be damages, lost or stolen, or the number of stock being transferred may not have been accurately recorded at one of warehouses. JIWA now controls these scenarios. JIWA can now be used as a quality and auditing control in these situation.
Additionally, costs of transferring stock, such as freight and insurance, may be allocated to the cost of the transferred stock.
2) Warehouse Stock Purchases / Requests
As an extension of the new Warehouse Transfers functionality detailed above, JIWA now controls the requesting of stock from warehouse from another. These stock requests can be based on each JIWA users set of business rules.
3) Returns Authorisations
New functionality has been added to JIWA in JIWA 6.04.09 to control the returning of stock to suppliers. This is a particular messy area in most distribution business. The new Returns Authorisations functionality facilitate the returning or exchanging of stock to suppliers for any number of reasons, and the claiming and tracking of credit claims.
4) Purchase Order Methods
New abilities have been added to this very important JIWA feature for companies that need to efficiently use their warehouse space. The ability to allow JIWA to create purchase orders to suppliers based on business rules, such as warehouse minimums and maximums, lead times, backorders, past sales and seasonal variations, has been enhanced to allow JIWA to also take into account stock demand within Sales Orders that have yet to be processed. However, like previous versions of JIWA, the standard Purchase Order Methods within JIWA may be fully tailored to the requirements of each business.
5) New Inventory Maintenance Grid
All grids within JIWA’s inventory functions have been updated so that:
- Some columns can be fixed while others are proportionally resized,
- Cursor movements using the [Tab] key may be configured,
- Fields can be set that move the cursor to the next line upon [Enter]
- Tabs can be renamed, reordered and/or hidden6) Production of Back-to-Back Purchase Orders from Back-to-Back Sales Orders
