Based in Auckland, New Zealand, Haunui International specialises in sourcing a wide variety of consumer products for local and international retail markets.
Haunui’s product categories include lighting, home décor, indoor and outdoor furniture and hundreds of other consumer items.
The company partners with global manufacturers to both acquire and design custom-specific product ranges that are then supplied on a free-on-board (FOB) basis.
Haunui was using a custom-made ERP solution that was basic, difficult to use and limited in its reporting functionality.
“The system… was slow, cumbersome to use, difficult to train staff on and was not able to keep up with our evolving needs”, said Hugh Algie, Director, Haunui International Ltd.
“Using the Crystal Reports capability in Jiwa, we can set our own reporting parameters and customise our sales orders to accommodate the various exchange rates we deal with. Prior to Jiwa we had to make all those calculations manually, which was time-consuming and less accurate,”
Jiwa provided Haunui with a system set up the way they’re used to working, that allows them to manage sales orders quickly and simply. In addition, Jiwa customised the system to integrate SAP Crystal Reports. Now the system easily manages foreign currency transactions, a must for Haunui as several suppliers are located in China, the US, Singapore and India.

Jiwa also streamlines the process of forecasting future revenues, vital for any business, but particularly for Haunui, as it can be six months between order placement and payment.
Jiwa has taken the guesswork out of this process and the result is much-needed peace of mind and an enhanced ability to prepare for the immediate future.
Customer service also received a boost, with critical historical information and current sales data easily accessible from a central database so Hugh can respond to customer enquiries quickly with accurate information.
Into the Future
Jiwa is used on a day-to-day basis at Haunui, handling the company’s shipping, inventory and sales needs.
Hugh believes he’s cut the time for order entries and sales forecasts from 32 hours a week to around 30 minutes. Along with the efficiency gains, this has resulted in dramatic cost savings for their business.
“The simplicity and intuitiveness of the system also speeds up the time it takes me to train someone on Jiwa,” Hugh remarked.
Haunui is now looking at further uses for Jiwa, including using for another business in Indonesia, and moving to the cloud.
